What I ordered: - Poke bowl with "poke my love" and "spicy garlic" flavors Each poke bowl comes with a base (rice, mixed green, etc.), two toppings (kimchi, yellow radish, etc.), and two poke flavors. All of their poke flavors are comprised of tuna, no other type of fish. The quality of their tuna is standard, not terrible. The flavors range from shoyu to creamier mayo versions. I typically go for the spicy garlic and add a creamy flavor for a nice contrast. Their poke flavors are a bit salty at times but never lacking in bold taste, the rice and toppings also help balance the saltiness out. If you're unsure what to pick, they give out samples!

Went here for lunch after a failed attempt to get burgers. Loco moco was delicious! The Mac salad is fantastic

My boyfriend and I LOVE 808! We've been here many times and the service is always good. The one thing we always come back for is the food, but specifically the Mac salad and spam masubi. 808 gets it right every time and nowhere else compares. It is very small inside so usually we do takeout, but we absolutely love 808 if we are in the mood for Hawaiian.

Our experience at 808 Local Hawaiian Grill was amazing. Prices are unbeatable for the portion of food that you receive - all prices are roughly between $12-$20 per plate lunch; even including the combination plates. Honestly, such a steal, especially in this economy. Customer service was absolutely top notch! Our cashier on October 4th, 2024 at 1700 (middle eastern male) was absolutely phenomenal. Super kind, easy to talk to, and guided us to getting a meal that we would love! We were told the wait was about 10-15 minutes for food & the food came out quicker than we anticipated. Although the food was great & reminded us of home, his customer service is what would drive us to come back again as loyal customers. We initially were given the wrong items (2 Pipi combinations) & without a doubt, the cashier + workers ensured we were leaving with our correct meal as soon as possible. No hassle, super apologetic & ensured that we were satisfied prior to departing the restaurant. The beef ribs were to die for! The flavor it holds in addition to the "fall off the bone" type of tender. Mac salad is a MUST! So Ono! Kalbi & BBQ chicken was good - but nothing that stuck out to us! If you were to choose one plate lunch, 100% pick beef ribs or any combination plate that includes the beef ribs! Since I am currently pregnant, we will try the Poke another time - otherwise, we will be back SOON! Place is a little small - so it may get crowded easily. There are three 2 (two) top tables in the restaurant & a few seating options outside. If you're lucky, you could snag a seat while waiting/dining in.

Aloha hidden gem!! This is my new favorite Hawaiian food restaurant. Lots of flavor and big portions. The chicken katsu is crunchy, yet juicy. (Would probably ask for a side of sauce, I like adding a little to my rice, but that's just me) The bbq teriyaki so GOOD! My favorite is the macaroni salad. I could eat that all the time. First time trying spam and egg musubi was alright, seemed like it needed something. But for me the seaweed was too fishy. Maybe it's not my thing.

Kind service and great portions for value. Poke sells out quick (most gone by afternoon) so come earlier! + Poke Bowl ($18): white rice and mixed greens base with sushi ginger and cucumber toppings and spicy garlic and Hawaiian style poke. Spicy garlic tuna didnt have much garlic flavor/bits (7/10) Hawaiian style was a subtle umami flavor (7.2/10) This lasted two meals!

Stopped by right when they opened up at 11AM and it did not disappoint! They definitely did start getting busier and busier as time passed as it was lunch hours and nearby a lot of businesses and CHOC. The service went by quick and they were very attentive towards us to ensure we enjoyed our order. My boyfriend and I weren't super hungry yet so we shared the combo with Kalbi, beef ribs and teriyaki chicken and a side of garlic rice. The garlic rice is definitely garlicky but also buttery. The proteins had a nice char flavor and was super flavorful. We substituted the greens for Mac salad and it was delicious. Will definitely come back to try more of their goodies!
